Nic Harry at the Lazic & Ferguson Wedding

Nic Harry at the Lazic & Ferguson Wedding

On the 24th of September, Christopher Ferguson and Natasha Lazic tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Johannesburg. The groom and his groomsmen chose to show off their style with the Nic Harry Green Pack. We interviewed the groom, Chris, about the wedding: image-1 Nic Harry (NH): Tell us about your groomsmen- how did you choose them (family, friends etc)? Chris Ferguson (CF): It was varied – my best man was a friend I met at res in Cape Town, the other groomsmen has been a friend from school days. On the family side there was my brother Rob, and Tash’s brother (and now my brother too) Ivo. It's always hard to know how many to choose but I tried to align with the bridesmaids where possible. NH: Where was the wedding held? CF: At the bride’s family home in Kyalami – it held a special significance for us as it has become something of a family tradition now as well. image-4 NH: What made you decide to choose [bright, bold, stripy, patterned etc] socks for the big day? CF: I liked the idea of giving a non-traditional gift to the groomsmen to thank them, but also one that I could give to the other men in the family to wear on the big day to include everyone. NH: Was the colour scheme of the wedding taken into consideration when deciding on socks? CF: I think we tried to keep it to theme, but ultimately if one of the groomsmen wants purple striped socks there isn’t much that matches perfectly. Bright and bold goes with everything. [Editor's note: we agree Chris!] NH: What about matching with the bridesmaids? CF: Their dresses were green so we did ok with about 50% of the socks! image-5 NH: Does the style [bright, bold, stripy, patterned etc] have any special significance for you? CF: I made sure I had stripy socks given my bride’s love of stripes – every shirt she has ever bought for me has stripes. NH: Did you plan what you would wear first and then find socks to match? CF: Yes, I don’t have close to enough fashion sense to start with socks and then build a wedding theme around that. NH: Who thought of the idea for the groom and his retinue to wear socks? CF: I always liked the idea but I have to credit the execution to my bride and her bridesmaids – along will just about everything else in the wedding. NH: How did people respond to your socks? CF: Definitely with a lot of envy and admiration. Congratulations to the happy couple! image-9 Images all courtesy of TINK photography
