Pants length: can they make or break an outfit?
The answer is yes. Pants that are the right length and fit properly are the key to a well-fitted and finished look.
A lot of people concern themselves with the upper body; how do the shoulders fit, is the waist snug and should you do the top or bottom button on your jacket? This is all relevant to consider but ignoring the bottom half of your look will leave you with pants that are crumpled at the ankle or walked on for weeks, and therefore are shoddy-looking.
But fear not, there is always help at hand. Here's a nifty little graphic to help you out when thinking about the length of your pants.
If you have a favourite suit, pair of jeans or pants that suspect are too long, we suggest taking them to a tailor to fix up.
Current trends lean towards the quarter break or no break at all. If you're trying to show of your bright and bold socks, then it's best to go for one of these two. If you find yourself in a more conservative work environment and are not on the cutting edge of fashion, then you could make the half break work nicely.
The full break is a bit out of date but if you must do it, at least make sure that the rest of your suit fits perfectly, that your shoes are shined and your Nic Harry Sock Subscriptions are up to date!
