What we like best about Ali is how he loves accessorising every outfit, and he’s not afraid to wear bold colours. He’s seldom seen without some sort of head apparel or a bold tie. Wearing anything from beanies, baseball caps, fedoras to pageboy hats, every accessory Ali wears is perfectly tailored to complement his entire outfit. He mixes his style up, sometimes going for a sharp business man look, other times making a striking impression by wearing one bold colour. He accompanies his unique sense of style with original poses that show off just how quirky he is.
Zoe Spawton, a Berlin-based photographer, decided to document Ali on the acclaimed blog What Ali Wore after encountering the stylish octogenarian in 2012. She noticed the stylish tailor walking past the cafe she worked at everyday, and decided to document his eye-catching outfits. Communication was difficult between the two of them at first as they struggled with the language barrier, but over time they have developed a friendship, going for coffee and even attending parties and weddings together. In a city like Berlin, teeming with culture and diversity, Ali manages to stand out for his age-defying dress sense and his daring approach to style. We think everyone should take on Ali's approach to life, and be bold and daring when it comes to style!
