Is the Apple Watch a Fashion Accessory?
There has been a lot of hype over the past few weeks and building up to last night's announcement of the Apple Watch. Looking at the video above, there's a chance that the Apple Watch won't be the ugly step sister of the timeless time keepers of old.
Yes, there were also announcements about an updated iOS and two new iPhones but we're way more interested in the Apple Watch. The reason? Simply put; Fashion Statement.
We watched carefully as we saw Tim Cook prance around the stage wearing his Apple Watch. White strap, chrome and black looking finish. He didn't seem to wear the watch particularly well actually. But Mr Cook isn't the most stylish of people in the world as it is.
If we completely ignore the fact that Apple has really not done too much in the way of innovation with this device and focus solely on the aesthetic of the Apple Watch there actually is a fair amount to like.
The Apple Watch is completely customisable and will give anyone wearing it control over how they express themselves using their watch.
You could potentially purchase a variety of Apple Watch Straps and match them to your socks. We'd probably do that. It's almost like matching your socks to your tie, your lapel pin to your belt or your pocket square to your cufflinks.
