Why Bamboo Is Good For You

Nic Harry has selected bamboo as our flag ship fibre. That may seem like an interesting choice but once you understand the value of bamboo fibre you’ll want to slip your feet into a pair of our daringly bold bamboo socks and never look back!

GOOD FOR YOU

ANTI-BACTERIAL

One of our favourite quirks of bamboo is its natural anti-bacterial properties. This is due to an antimicrobial bio-agent called “bamboo kun” which is found naturally in the fibre. Basically – bamboo socks help your feet smell much better.

Your partner will thank us!

EXTREMELY SOFT

Bamboo is ridiculously soft to the touch. Much softer than the cotton you’re probably used to. It wears more like a combination of silk and cashmere. You’ll never wear anything as soft as our bamboo socks on your feet

ABSORBANT

It is an incredibly absorbent fibre due to the micro-gaps in the bamboo fabric. We’ve been told by the pros that bamboo has a moisture absorbency twice that of cotton.

MOISTURE WICKING

Bamboo fiber absorbs moisture away from your skin better than most. This means your body stays drier for longer in bamboo items!

KIND TO SKIN

If you are prone to allergies or rashes then wearing bamboo will be like walking on a cloud.

Bamboo is anti-static and sits well against your skin.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Bamboo is warm yet breathable. This means it's a very adaptable fiber that makes our socks incredibly versatile and useful in different climates.

GREAT FOR THE PLANET

MORE FROM LESS

Bamboo yields the same amount of cotton from using 10% less land. More bamboo from less land means less damage to the planet.

We're fans of reducing the damage to the planet.

LESS WATER

Bamboo uses very little water to grow. Usually it only requires naturally falling rainwater.

Saving water is imperative to the future of the planet.

GROWS FAST

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world. This means that you get more bamboo from the same amount of land as any other fibre, like cotton.

More from less. That's what we like.

We Make Bamboo Cool

More than being absorbant, anti-bacterial and soft, bamboo is also fantastic at holding colour. This means that when we dye our yarn a colour, that colour stays vibrant and bold for longer!
